Couples therapy in person in Bethesda , MD or virtually for clients in Maryland and DC

Are you feeling disconnected and worried about your relationship?

When you think about improving your relationship, are you unsure where to start or do you feel like your efforts lead to more conflict and hurt?

Whether arguments get too loud, or the silence feels painful, couples therapy can help you identify deeper needs and dynamics keeping you stuck, and guide you toward a new, more loving relationship.

The couples I work with may be in the dating stage or have been together for decades, but they know something isn’t working and need support to make a change.

We’ll talk about the hard stuff, but we’ll also make room for what’s good in your relationship, and sometimes we’ll even laugh together.

How couples therapy
with me works

Learn what
you’re really arguing about, because the fight about the dishes isn’t really about the dishes.

Identify the dynamics that aren’t working in your relationship and how to get out of them.

Practice new ways of communicating and showing up for each other in session.

Turn toward each other with safety, generosity, and joy.

I am certified in Prepare/Enrich and am honored to support premarital couples through this model or with traditional couples therapy with a premarital focus. Reach out to learn more about premarital therapy with me.

“We’re not that bad, we don’t need couples therapy.”

I hear this a lot, and I get it. Maybe your partner wants couples therapy, but you worry about sharing your private business, getting blamed for your relationship problems, or paying to argue for an hour.

Couples therapy with me is a partnership between the three of us. I’m here to root for your relationship, make room for both of your needs, and guide you toward a relationship that works for both of you. I won’t take sides, or just let you have the same fight you could have at home for free.

I regularly hear from couples that they wish they had started therapy sooner. I see it not as a sign something is wrong or broken, but as a gift to invest in your relationship in such a vulnerable and powerful way.

If you’re still not sure, I’m happy to talk through your concerns in a consultation to decide together if couples therapy is a good fit for your relationship.
