Frequently Asked Questions

We start with a free 15-minute consultation so we can both determine if it’s a good fit. If we decide to move forward, you can schedule an intake appointment where we will meet for a full session and discuss your symptoms and reasons for starting therapy. We can set a regular weekly or biweekly appointment time before or during the intake appointment. For some folks with complicated schedules, I can accommodate scheduling each session at different times as long as we meet regularly.

I am out of network with insurance and do not work directly with insurance companies. I can provide a receipt called a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please let me know if you have questions about out-of-network reimbursement, or check with your insurance provider about their out-of-network benefits.

You may find therapy helpful if you have been trying to make changes in your life or your relationship but feel you could use more guidance and support. Therapy can be helpful for big life transitions, big emotions, or feeling lost or stuck.

The first session is a chance for me to get to know you and what brings you to therapy. From there, we will discuss goals and hopes for therapy and build a safe, trusting relationship. Sessions will be collaborative, and I will come with ideas and information that may help guide you, but you ultimately decide what we talk about. Because therapy is about the relationship, we will regularly check in on how the therapy relationship and sessions are working for you.

For virtual sessions, clients must physically be in Maryland or DC where I am licensed. Please find a private, confidential space to meet, and ensure you will not be distracted (please don’t call from a moving car!). Ideally, couples are calling from the same place, but if you are not able to please let me know and I can accommodate.
